Job summary

Hartford HealthCare invites you to join Hartford Hospital’s housekeeping team. Under direct supervision, you will perform general cleaning and routine activities in assigned areas, maintaining a clean, sanitary environment for patients, visitors and staff.

The role requires operating cleaning equipment, staying calm in a fast-paced setting, and effective communication while collaborating with nurses to enhance the patient experience. A High School diploma and strong English skills are preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English. Must be able to communicate effectively.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred

Responsibilities

• Perform general cleaning and routine activities in assigned areas per department standards.
• Operate cleaning equipment such as carts, burnishers, buffers, auto-machines, vacuum cleaners and other related equipment.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary environment for patients, visitors and hospital personnel.
• Communicate effectively with patients, the public, and other health care workers.
• Follow and adhere to hospital and department policies, procedures and training requirements.
• Promote the Hartford HealthCare mission, vision and values.
• Collaborate with co-workers, nursing and others to enhance the Patient Experience.
• Read and understand oral and written instructions; basic computer skills.
