Job summary

Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla seeks a full-time Environmental Safety Officer to lead safety program development and regulatory compliance. You will serve as an internal consultant on environmental-safety matters and coordinate safety activities across Hospital sites.

You will educate staff on safe practices, ensure alignment with Joint Commission standards, and assume the role of safety adviser to the Incident Commander during disasters.

Qualifications

• Experience in healthcare environmental safety practices.
• Familiarity with Joint Commission standards and regulatory guidelines.
• Ability to educate staff on safe working practices and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Serve as an internal consultant on environmental-safety matters for the hospital.
• Develop and maintain systems and programs for Workplace Safety and Environment of Care as per regulations.
• Coordinate with committees and staff to ensure safety compliance across sites.
• Act as safety advisor to the Incident Commander during disasters and emergencies.
• Coordinate Hazardous Materials, Waste and Communications Management programs on site.
