Job summary

Catholic Charities of Baltimore, Caritas House, is seeking a Dietary Assistant to support patients in a healthcare facility, assisting with meal assembly, ensuring menu adherence, and upholding sanitation standards. The role requires a Serve Safe certification or willingness to obtain within 6 months, and work hours vary Monday through Friday with every other weekend, 6 AM - 2 PM or 11 AM - 7 PM.

Punctuality and reliable attendance are required.
Strong interpersonal skills and professional demeanor toward staff, clients, and visitors.
Adherence to established safety protocols to protect patients and coworkers.
Knowledge of cleaning and sanitizing to maintain a safe environment.

Responsibilities

Prepare, serve, and manage meal distribution per residents' dietary needs.
Ensure proper food handling and sanitation during mealtimes.
Report discrepancies or issues related to food temperature to the Dining Services Supervisor.
Adhere to dietary restrictions and set up dining areas for accurate service.
Finalize food temperature logs to ensure safety compliance.
Follow health and safety protocols; use PPE and maintain hygiene standards.
Maintain clean, organized food prep and service areas per guidelines.
Foster positive relationships with staff and other programs for seamless operations.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
