Job summary

Aston Group is seeking a Cook to prepare large volumes of food for patients, residents, and staff in a healthcare setting. You will cook to prescribed menus, ensuring nutritious and appetizing meals that meet dietary needs.

This role requires SafeServe certification and at least three years of healthcare kitchen experience. You will handle temperature control, sanitation, and inventory while maintaining clean, safe galley operations and responding to patient and customer inquiries.

Qualifications

• SafeServe certification
• Minimum of three (3) years of healthcare related experience
• Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently

Responsibilities

• Cleans, cuts, prepares, and cooks meat, fish, or poultry to a safe temperature
• Prepares food on large scale and cooks various items according to menus and dietary needs
• Bakes breads, rolls, and pastries
• Maintains proper portion control for all food preparation
• Develops and maintains food records regarding use and expenditures
• Inventories supplies and equipment
• Determines meals, menus and prices
• Ensures cleanliness and operation of galley equipment and work areas
• Communicates issues to Director promptly
• Ensures proper food temperatures and sanitation standards
• Performs itemized sanitary practices and hygiene routines
• Monitors back dock/storage area cleanliness and organization
• Maintains visibility of storage area security and access control
• Performs basic recipe calculations and adjustments
• Taste tests food to ensure recipe consistency
• Handles safety and hygiene across the kitchen environment
