Highmark Health invites applicants for the Summer 2027 Data Science Research & Development Graduate Internship. This program applies advanced data science, ML/AI, and software engineering to healthcare challenges using clinical, medical, and insurance data.

Interns join a multidisciplinary team and work on graph analytics, medical imaging, predictive modeling, and AI applications, gaining hands-on experience across high-impact research projects with mentorship.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and pursuing graduate studies in a related field.
• Graduate-level study in CS/BI/DS/EE/Applied Math or related quantitative discipline.
• Strong Python programming and data science library experience (NumPy, Pandas, Scikit-learn).
• SQL proficiency and relational database concepts.

Responsibilities

• Assist with data science research and development in healthcare domain.
• Collaborate with researchers, data scientists, ML engineers, and software developers.
• Develop and evaluate analytical models, reporting, and experimentation.
• Communicate findings to technical and business stakeholders.
• Support compliance with HIPAA and data security policies.
