Job summary

HireVenture seeks a Lead Data Scientist in Houston to lead analytics initiatives for a healthcare-focused organization. You will drive advanced statistical methods, predictive modeling, ML, and data visualization to deliver actionable insights to leadership and stakeholders.

You will supervise, mentor other data scientists, develop scalable data models, and translate complex results into clear recommendations for both technical and non-technical audiences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Science, Engineering, CS, Math, Stats, Data Science, or related STEM field.
• 7+ years of professional data science experience.
• Strong programming and statistical analysis skills.
• Advanced knowledge of SQL and database management.
• Strong understanding of ML techniques and practical applications.
• Experience with large, complex, incomplete datasets.
• Ability to communicate complex findings to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strong project management and ability to handle multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Lead high-priority and complex data science projects affecting decision-making.
• Develop custom data models, algorithms, and analytical solutions.
• Perform research, predictive modeling, data mining, visualization, and pattern analysis.
• Develop and test hypotheses; communicate findings clearly.
• Apply regression, clustering, forecasting, A/B testing, and statistical testing.
• Analyze structured and unstructured data from large sources.
• Evaluate existing models for accuracy and effectiveness.
• Identify data quality and process issues; improve efficiency and scalability.
• Partner with business and technical teams to gather requirements.
