Job summary

Wellington Management is seeking a Data Science Analyst to join the Healthcare team within Global Investment Research. You will help identify how data science, AI, and alternative data can generate differentiated investment insights across Biopharma, Healthcare Services, and MedTech.

The role requires hands-on experience in an investment setting, strong Python, SQL, and AI skills, and the ability to work independently while balancing dataset work with rapid-turnaround requests.

Qualifications

• 3-5+ years of experience in data science, alternative data, investment research, healthcare analytics, or a related analytical role.
• Prior experience working with investment teams, research teams, or senior business stakeholders.
• Strong Python and SQL skills.
• Comfort with AI/LLM tooling and agentic workflows to streamline research processes.

Responsibilities

• Work with Healthcare team, partnering with Global Industry Analysts and Portfolio Managers.
• Translate investment questions into testable data science workflows and outputs.
• Apply AI to streamline research workflows and contribute to idea generation.
• Communicate results with limitations, confidence levels, and interpretation risk.
• Develop signals and analytic frameworks from datasets relevant to healthcare investing.
• Collaborate with Data Engineering to productionize high-value signals.
