Job summary

First Databank (FDB) is seeking a Prizm Application Specialist (Developer) within the Quality Management department for the Prizm Medical Device Database and its MDMS. This role designs, develops, maintains, tests, and improves the data system, data workflows, APIs, and AI-enabled tools to enhance data quality and throughput.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in MIS, CIS, CS or equivalent professional experience.
• 3–5 years of software development experience with Python, Java, CSS, and HTML.
• Experience with AI-enabled tools or integrations (e.g., Cline, Cursor) is preferred.
• Experience with FDA data sources, categorization data, and client APIs is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, maintain, and improve the Prizm Medical Device Database.
• Own and implement the MDMS including scalable DB and UI solutions.
• Automate data workflows with Python and maintain ETL pipelines.
• Manage ETL processes ingesting data from FDA and categorization sources and client files.
• Implement MDMS UI features using HTML, CSS, Java, and templating engines.
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools to improve code quality and testing; review AI-generated code.
• Develop and integrate AI-enabled tools and validation routines into MDMS and data pipelines.
• Analyze medical device datasets to identify trends and data quality improvements.
• Collaborate with DBAs and cross-functional teams on planning and deployment.
• Maintain documentation for data models, architecture, and workflows.
• Monitor MDMS performance and optimize queries; ensure availability.
• Troubleshoot API, ETL, and data build issues across build/QA/release.
• Translate business and data requirements into reliable MDMS enhancements.
