Pyramid Consulting, Inc. is seeking a senior Healthcare Data Architect to design end-to-end data architecture for a new underwriting and quoting initiative, leveraging Azure, Databricks, and data lake technologies.

The role involves modeling, governance, real-time processing, and BI needs across executives, data specialists, and engineering teams. The position requires 15+ years in data architecture with healthcare industry experience and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience in data architecture, enterprise data solutions, solution architecture, or related disciplines.
• Direct experience designing and delivering data architecture solutions in the healthcare industry.
• Strong expertise in enterprise data modeling across conceptual, logical, physical, and dimensional models.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure, Azure Databricks, and data lake technologies.

Responsibilities

• Design end-to-end data architecture for a new healthcare underwriting and quoting initiative.
• Develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models to support multiple systems.
• Create a unified data model for three new systems with different structures.
• Define data ingestion, integration, transformation, validation, and movement strategies.
• Architect the data layer supporting product selection, underwriting, external data retrieval, and quote generation.
• Establish data structures and integration patterns for real-time processing and analytics.
• Design dimensional models and data structures to support Power BI reporting and BI.
• Define data catalog, metadata management, data lineage, and governance requirements.
• Leverage Azure, Databricks, and data lake technologies for scalable architecture.
• Evaluate automation opportunities with Power Automate and other tools.
• Use AI productivity tools to accelerate architecture design and documentation.
• Collaborate with executives, stakeholders, and engineering teams.
• Translate business objectives into architecture specifications and delivery plans.
• Identify gaps, integration dependencies, data quality challenges, and risks.
• Deliver an implementation-ready data model and documentation for handoff.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and define the end-to-end data architecture for a new healthcare underwriting and quoting initiative.
• Develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models to support multiple interconnected business systems.
• Design a unified data model that accommodates three new systems with different data structures and operational requirements.
• Define data ingestion, integration, transformation, validation, and movement strategies across internal applications and external data sources.
• Architect the data layer supporting product selection, underwriting, external data retrieval, and quote generation.
• Establish data structures and integration patterns that support real-time transactional processing and analytical reporting.
• Design dimensional models and data structures to support Power BI reporting, analytics, and business intelligence.
• Define data catalog, metadata management, data lineage, and data governance requirements.
• Leverage Microsoft Azure, Databricks, and data lake technologies to establish a scalable and maintainable architecture.
• Evaluate opportunities to streamline workflows through Power Automate and other business process automation capabilities.
• Use AI productivity tools, including ChatGPT/GPT, Claude, and Microsoft Copilot, where appropriate to accelerate architecture design, documentation, and analysis.
• Collaborate with executives, business stakeholders, existing architects, data specialists, and engineering teams.
• Translate business objectives into architecture specifications, technical documentation, implementation plans, and delivery milestones.
• Identify architectural gaps, integration dependencies, data quality challenges, and technical risks.
• Deliver an implementation-ready data model and supporting architecture documentation for engineering handoff.

Key Requirements and Technology Experience:

• 15+ years of experience in data architecture, enterprise data solutions, solution architecture, or related technical disciplines.
• Direct experience designing and delivering data architecture solutions in the healthcare industry.
• Strong expertise in enterprise data modeling, including conceptual, logical, physical, and dimensional modeling.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure, Azure Databricks, and data lake technologies.
• Proven experience integrating multiple systems with different data structures and schemas.
• Experience designing data ingestion, transformation, integration, and data movement strategies.
• Understanding of architectures supporting real-time transactional processing and reporting workloads.
• Experience with Power BI data modeling, analytics, and reporting architecture.
• Familiarity with Power Automate and business workflow automation.
• Experience with data cataloging, metadata management, data governance, and data lineage.
• Strong business analysis and solution design capabilities, including the ability to translate business requirements into technical architecture.
• Excellent executive communication, stakeholder management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently, establish architecture direction, and deliver technical blueprints with minimal supervision.
• Experience with healthcare payer organizations, health insurance, managed care, or related healthcare business operations.
• Direct experience with healthcare underwriting, quoting, pricing, or product configuration processes.
• Experience consolidating internal enterprise data with third-party or external data sources.
• Experience designing data architecture for newly introduced applications or enterprise transformation programs.
• Familiarity with healthcare data privacy, security, governance, and regulatory requirements.
• Experience using generative AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, and Microsoft Copilot to support technical work.
• Experience preparing architecture roadmaps, technical design specifications, and engineering handoff packages.
