Job summary

UCLA Health is seeking a detail oriented Data Analyst to support high impact research using large healthcare datasets, including UCLA and VA EHRs, Medicare data, and other complex clinical databases. The analyst will build and manage research datasets, perform data cleaning, and conduct advanced statistical analyses.

Responsibilities include constructing large datasets, collaborating on data quality and design, developing statistical models, and presenting results in clear visuals for reports

Qualifications

• Bachelors in statistics/compsci or related field or equivalent experience.
• Strong foundation in basic and multivariable statistics.
• Experience with statistical modeling (hierarchical, GLM/GEE, survival).
• Familiarity with research design and reproducible analyses.
• Proficiency in STATA, R, SAS; SQL data extraction.
• Ability to create tables/graphs and summarize analyses for collaborators.

Responsibilities

• Construct, manage, and clean large datasets from UCLA/VA EHR, Medicare, and others.
• Collaborate with faculty on data quality control and database design.
• Develop and apply statistical models to support clinical and health services research.
• Summarize results in clear visuals and tables for reports/publications.
• Partner with research teams to ensure reproducible, well documented analyses.
