Job summary

Summit Managed Solutions is seeking a Healthcare Data Analyst to support clinical and operational teams through data analysis, reporting, and technology-enabled solutions. This role partners with leaders to understand needs, evaluate performance, and develop reporting and workflow solutions that drive informed decisions.

The ideal candidate will work with claims, EHR, financial, and program data, build Power BI dashboards, and support Power Automate workflows to improve efficiency and program

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience in healthcare analytics, BI, or related roles.
  • Experience with healthcare data and supporting clinical or operational teams preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to identify trends and root causes.
  • Proficiency with SQL; Oracle/Power Automate/Power Platform familiarity is a plus.
  • Experience building Power BI reports/dashboards for stakeholders.
  • Advanced MS Excel skills; multi-source datasets.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; able to convey complex requirements clearly.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a team environment.
  • Willingness to onsite in Indianapolis as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with clinical, operational, and business leaders to evaluate programs and identify data-driven opportunities.
  • Collect, organize, validate, and analyze healthcare data across claims, EHR, financial, and clinical data.
  • Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports for clinical and operational stakeholders.
  • Create and support Power Automate workflows and Power Platform solutions.
  • Translate business needs into reporting, analytics, workflow, and technology solutions.
  • Analyze KPIs and large datasets to identify trends, risks, and root causes.
  • Prepare analyses and dashboards and present actionable insights to stakeholders.
  • Support program evaluation with stakeholder interviews and process mapping.
  • Design and implement operational improvements based on analytical findings.
  • Maintain reporting datasets, data dictionaries, trackers for data quality.
  • Identify opportunities to automate processes using Power Platform, SharePoint, Excel, SQL.
  • Promote dashboard adoption through training and ongoing monitoring.
  • Document processes and best practices for repeatable programs.
  • Collaborate with Summit Consulting Team to deliver insights and recommendations.
  • Support Summit's culture of delivering value at partner interactions.

Job description

Location: Indianapolis, Indiana – this position is a hybrid position but needs to be able to travel onsite with partners as needed. NOTE: Indiana-residing applicants are preferred, but will consider applicants from Ohio, Illinois, Michigan and Kentucky (or within 120 miles from Indianapolis).

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Healthcare Data Analyst to support clinical and operational teams through data analysis, reporting, process improvement, and technology-enabled solutions. This role will partner directly with business and clinical leaders to understand operational needs, evaluate program performance, identify opportunities for improvement, and develop reporting and workflow solutions that support informed decision-making.

This position will work with healthcare data including claims, clinical, financial, pharmacy, and program performance data to identify trends, evaluate key performance indicators, and translate findings into actionable recommendations. The role will also support the development and maintenance of Power BI dashboards, Power Automate workflows, reporting tools, and other solutions designed to improve operational efficiency and program performance.

What You'll Do:
  • Partner with clinical, operational, and business leaders to evaluate programs, identify opportunities, and develop data-driven solutions aligned with strategic priorities.
  • Collect, organize, validate, and analyze healthcare data, including claims, EHR, financial, pharmacy, operational, and clinical program data.
  • Build and maintain Power BI dashboards, reports, and performance tracking tools for clinical and operational stakeholders.
  • Develop and support Power Automate workflows and Power Platform solutions that streamline reporting, data collection, tracking, and manual processes.
  • Translate business needs and operational challenges into reporting, analytics, workflow, and technology solutions.
  • Analyze key performance indicators and large healthcare datasets to identify trends, risks, root causes, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Prepare and present analyses, dashboards, and recommendations that translate complex data into a clear story and actionable insights for stakeholders.
  • Support clinical and operational program evaluation, including research, stakeholder interviews, workflow assessment, process mapping, and performance analysis.
  • Partner with program and business owners to design and implement operational and process improvements based on analytical findings.
  • Develop and maintain reporting datasets, documentation, data dictionaries, trackers, and other tools to promote data quality, transparency, and consistency.
  • Identify opportunities to automate or improve existing business processes using Power Platform, SharePoint, Excel, SQL, or other available technologies.
  • Support adoption of dashboards, reports, and automated workflows through stakeholder education, training, and ongoing monitoring.
  • Document processes, solutions, and best practices to create repeatable and scalable programs, reporting capabilities, and operational tools.
  • Collaborate with the Summit Consulting Team to develop and deliver meaningful insights, solutions, and recommendations for our partners.
  • Contribute to Summit's culture of delivering value at every partner interaction
What You'll Need:
  • 4+ years of experience in healthcare analytics, business intelligence, business analysis, operations, process improvement, or a related role.
  • Experience working with healthcare data and/or supporting healthcare clinical or operational teams strongly preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills with demonstrated experience interpreting complex datasets, identifying trends, and performing root cause analysis.
  • Strong understanding of relational databases, data warehouses, and data structures.
  • Experience with SQL required; Oracle, Power Automate, Power Platform, or other workflow/process automation experience preferred.
  • Experience developing reports and dashboards using Power BI or comparable business intelligence/data visualization tools.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and experience working with multi-source datasets.
  • Strong process improvement mindset with an ability to identify operational inefficiencies and develop practical solutions.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly communicate complex information / business requirements to both technical and non-technical audiences (clinical, operational, and/or senior leadership stakeholders).
  • Strong critical thinking, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently while collaborating effectively within a team.
  • Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, evolving, and collaborative consulting environment.
  • Ability to be onsite with partners in Indianapolis as needed.
