Job summary

CareDx, Inc. is seeking a Data & AI Engineer II to build analytical applications and data pipelines supporting clinical research and data-driven decisions.

You will translate R analyses to maintainable Python, productionize ML workflows, and collaborate with data scientists, clinicians, and product teams. You will develop with Python, Streamlit, Plotly, Dash, and Django, while ensuring security and compliance for healthcare data, including HIPAA-aligned practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering or related quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 2+ years of experience in data engineering, backend engineering, full-stack development, analytics engineering, or related role.
• Strong proficiency in Python for data analysis and software development.
• Experience with statistical analysis, data science, or ML workflows.
• Experience transforming prototype or research code into maintainable software.
• Experience building analytical applications using Streamlit, Plotly, Dash, or similar technologies.
• Experience developing backend services or web apps using Django, FastAPI, Flask, or similar frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain analytical applications using Python, Streamlit, Plotly, Dash, and Django.
• Own implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance of defined features and data workflows.
• Productionize statistical models and ML workflows.
• Refactor R-based analyses into maintainable Python code.
• Build and maintain data pipelines for clinical data processing, analysis, and reporting.
• Develop interactive apps for data exploration, visualization, and decision support.
• Integrate apps with databases, APIs, and data sources.
• Contribute to AI-powered features using extraction, retrieval, tool calling, and multi-step workflows.
• Ensure validation, grounding, logging, and human review for AI outputs.
