Job Description:

Top 3 Required Skills/Experience:

  • Medical terminology knowledge or a medical background
  • Customer service experience
  • High school diploma and college or university experience

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Strong understanding of health insurance processes, including claims management, benefits coordination, and prior authorization

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • Two years of college or an associate degree or equivalent
  • Experience providing high-quality, provider-focused service to facilities and doctors
  • Ability to work collaboratively with peers and nurses
  • Accurate documentation entry into Care Advance
  • Effective phone engagement with providers (inbound and outbound)
  • Processing provider requests as needed
  • Serving as a trusted source for UM Prior Authorization programs
  • Assigning faxes to designated staff
  • Processing compliance inquiries
  • Accessing UM department mailboxes and voicemail as needed
  • Ability to work independently
  • Critical thinking skills

Education/Certifications:

  • High school diploma and college or university experience
