About the Role
As a Healthcare Customer Service Collections Rep, you will make an impact by assisting our clients’ customers with their outstanding balance accounts and secure payment while providing outstanding customer service. You will be a valuable member of our Cognizant team and collaborate with our client’s stakeholders and other team members.

In this role, you will:

  • Take inbound calls, acting as hospital representative to arrange debt repayment based on patient’s financial circumstances and client guidelines (via credit card, check, or insurance).
  • Document thoroughly by updating account records with all relevant information and actions taken.
  • Manage patient disputes, by collecting details, noting issues on accounts, and escalating to supervisor when needed.
  • Ensure communication by verifying that required statements have been sent and requesting additional statements, as necessary.
  • Contribute to team success by assisting with other responsibilities as assigned.

Work schedule: Monday through Friday
with varying hours:

  • 4 days working 8am-4:30pm EST.
  • 1 day working 11:30am-8pm EST.

Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED
  • At least 1 year of healthcare collections experience
  • Strong customer service skills, especially in managing challenging conversations.
  • Clear and effective communications abilities
  • Familiarity with HIPAA and TCPA compliance during calls
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree
  • 2+ years of related experience in self-pay collections
  • Experience working with Epic software

Hourly Rate and Other Compensation: The hourly rate for this position is between $16.00 – $19.00 per hour depending on the experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
