Job summary

Oak Hill Manor in Ithaca, NY is seeking an experienced Cook to join our kitchen team in a long-term care and skilled nursing facility. You will prepare meals for residents, ensure proper textures and quality, and help run the tray-line during meal service.

You will oversee sanitation, assist with closing the kitchen, and may supervise evening staff. A Serv-Safe certification and at least one year of large-scale cooking experience are required, along with a high school diploma and strong customer

Qualifications

• Certification in healthcare cooking (Serv-Safe).
• Minimum one year of experience in large-scale cooking.
• Strong knowledge of large-scale and therapeutic food prep.
• Should have management experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, bake and service a variety of foods in a LTC & SNF setting.
• Prepare foods to proper consistencies.
• Work on tray line during meal service and supervise it.
• Ensure tray-line and meals are prepared efficiently.
• Oversee hand-washing and sanitizing of pots and pans.
• Assist with general kitchen cleanup and closing duties.
• Supervise evening staff in absence of Food Service Director.
