Job summary

The Controller at TCC Family Health in Long Beach, CA oversees the financial operations of the health center, ensuring timely, accurate financial reporting in line with GAAP and Uniform Guidance.

Lead the accounting team, manage monthly close, budgeting, and audits, and ensure compliance with federal grant requirements, Medicaid/Medicare billing, and restricted funds. Strong leadership with cross-functional collaboration is essential.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in accounting or finance is required or strongly preferred.
• CPA is preferred but not required; MBA preferred but not required.
• Experience requirements include a minimum of 8 years progressive accounting with 3+ years in supervision.
• Knowledge of healthcare accounting, specifically FQHCs, and federal guidelines is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain Chart of Accounts.
• Post standard journal entries and monthly closings adjustments.
• Manage General Ledger and monthly balance sheet analyses.
• Prepare monthly financial statements, departmental reports, and government/audit reports.
• Oversee annual budget preparation including Patient Service Revenue, Grants and Expenses.
• Oversee Grants, Contracts and Projects reports.
