Experience a summer of “Big Dreams, Big Possibilities!” Girl Scouts - North Carolina Coastal Pines seeks dynamic and enthusiastic individuals to join our 2025 Summer Camp Team at Camp Mary Atkinson in Selma, NC, and Camp Graham in Henderson, NC.

We have an opening for a Healthcare Consultant for our residential (overnight) camps at Camp Mary Atkinson, Selma, NC, and Camp Graham, Henderson, NC.

Position: Healthcare Consultant (Part-Time and Remote) Must reside in North Carolina.

Location: Camp Mary Atkinson, Selma, NC and Camp Graham, Henderson, NC

Duration: Summer 2025 (May-August)

Compensation: Hourly rate of $25.00 per hour, including housing and meals after training.

We’re excited to offer all employees the opportunity to earn a $500 BONUS this summer!

Here’s how it works:

  1. $250 Mid-Summer Bonus: If hired, you will receive this at the end of June.
  2. $250 Completion Bonus: Earn this at the end of summer camp completion.

A Day in the Life:

  1. Supervise Campers and Staff: Serves as a resource for on-site camp healthcare staff.
  2. Support: Provides regular support to camp healthcare staff through phone and video consultation, and occasional on-site meetings, as needed.
  3. Plan & Lead Activities: Inspire personal growth through fun, engaging programs that teach daily living skills.

Minimum Requirements:

  1. Must be at least 21 years of age.
  2. Physician, Physician Assistant, Nurse Practitioner, or Registered Nurse (RN), Licensed in North Carolina.
  3. CPR certified.
  4. Current First Aid certification and experience in first aid and emergency management.
  5. Experience in both children and adult ambulatory care.
  6. Desire to work with children and young adults.
  7. Community health knowledge.
  8. Commitment to the aims and purpose of the Girl Scout movement.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  1. Strong knowledge of health care practices as applicable to youth in community setting.
  2. Good judgement and ability to process information quickly and make sound decisions.
  3. Availability to respond to calls from camp within 30 minutes.
  4. Ability to provide guidance from a distance.
  5. Knowledge in safe use and storage of medicines.

Physical Aspects of the Job:

  1. Ability to read and follow directions on medication labels, health forms, physician orders, and parent letters.
  2. Ability to use a telephone and computer with ease. Personal access to phone, computer, internet is required.
  3. Maintain written record system.
  4. Ability to communicate with parents, staff, and administration about camper health concerns.
  5. Possess endurance to meet emergency needs.
