Job summary

University of Chicago Medicine seeks a Senior Project Manager in Renovation & Construction to oversee capital healthcare projects on the Hyde Park campus and at offsite locations.

You will manage scope, budget, and schedule, coordinate designers and contractors, and report progress to UCM leadership, ensuring quality, safety, and regulatory compliance.

Essential collaboration with facilities operations and clinical teams will ensure smooth activation and turnover of completed spaces.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management or Project Management preferred.
• At least 7 years in construction or design with significant project management experience (10+ preferred).
• Experience managing scope, schedule, cost, risk, and resources in capital projects.
• Healthcare construction experience and infection control knowledge preferred.
• Ability to analyze construction costs and schedules with data-driven approaches.

Responsibilities

• Provide project management services for construction projects, managing cost, scope, schedule, resources and risk.
• Develop and document scope, identify cost and schedule baselines, and determine required internal/external resources.
• Oversee external resources: designers, builders, vendors; manage bid processes and awards.
• Review design/construction documents for completeness, constructability, coordination, and compliance.
• Lead owner-architect-contractor progress meetings and on-site supervision to ensure contract compliance and scope.
• Monitor invoices and expenses; update project schedules and charters; manage issues and risks.
• Develop commissioning and turnover plans, including warranties, system training, occupancy certificates, and final payments.
• Collaborate with facilities operations and clinical teams to ensure project success.
