Location: Remote (Work-from-Home)

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:15am - 5:00pm EST and one day 11:15am - 8:00pm EST

Experience: Minimum 1 year of related experience

Travel: None required

About the role:

As a Healthcare Customer Service Collections representative, you will impact by assisting our clients' customers with their outstanding balances to secure payment while providing exceptional customer service and maintaining positive relationships. You will be a valued member of the Cognizant team, working collaboratively with stakeholders and other teams.

In this role, you will:

  1. Handle inbound calls as a hospital representative to arrange debt repayment based on the patient's financial situation and client guidelines, using credit card, check, or insurance. Record all updates and information on accounts.
  2. Understand and utilize HIPAA and TCPA guidelines during each call.
  3. Ensure all required statements have been sent for handled accounts and request statements as necessary.
  4. Manage patient disputes by obtaining pertinent information, noting disputes on the account, and escalating to a supervisor as needed.
  5. Assist in making outbound calls when required.
  6. Perform other activities and responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum requirements:

  • High school diploma
  • Minimum one year of related work experience

Preferred qualifications:

  • Minimum one year of collections experience
  • Minimum one year of EPIC experience

Salary and compensation:

The hourly rate ranges from $15.00 to $19.00, plus collection's commission bonus, depending on experience and qualifications.

This position is eligible for Cognizant's discretionary monthly bonus program, based on performance.
