Job summary

UTHealth Houston is seeking a dedicated paramedical support professional to assist with a broad range of clinical and clerical tasks in a busy clinic. You will support physicians, manage patient records, and help ensure smooth patient flow and an efficient operation.

The position requires at least five years of office experience, including healthcare exposure, with strong Microsoft Office skills and attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office required.
• Use and care of standard clinic equipment required.
• Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) by AHIMA preferred

Responsibilities

• Makes medium to complex administrative decisions requiring a comprehensive knowledge of regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Conducts the initial screening of occupational medicine patients including audiometric testing, vital signs, and related measurements.
• Assists physicians with examinations.
• Oversees maintenance of office records to ensure compliance with HR and financial policies.
• Schedules patient appointments and tests.
• Orders and stocks needed clinic supplies and maintains testing equipment.
• Responds to emergency situations.
• Codes and processes forms and documents using standard policies.
• Establishes and maintains filing systems and handles mail and visitor intake.
