Job summary

St. John’s Regional Medical Center in Oxnard, CA, is seeking an Environmental Services Tech to clean and disinfect patient rooms, exam rooms, restrooms and public areas in accordance with infection-control standards.

You will operate floor scrubbers, vacuums and disinfectant sprayers, handle waste and linens, replenish supplies, and respond to cleaning requests from healthcare staff. This role requires prior housekeeping experience in a healthcare setting and familiarity with biohazard waste

Qualifications

• Housekeeping experience required, utilizing basic housekeeping practices, and procedures, proper handling/disposal of infectious waste, and proper safety skills in handling of housekeeping chemicals
• Acute healthcare work experience involving the use of heavy equipment such as buffers extractors wide area vacuums and wet vacuums

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize patient rooms, common areas, and other areas according to established protocols.
• Follow strict cleaning and disinfection procedures to maintain a safe and sanitary environment.
• Collect and dispose of waste, including biohazardous materials and linens, following proper procedures.
• Replenish supplies in patient rooms and common areas.
• Respond promptly to cleaning requests from healthcare staff.
• Operate cleaning equipment, including heavy-duty machinery and specialized tools.
