Job summary

GOLDENYEARS seeks a dedicated Housekeeper to maintain a clean, safe environment for residents and staff in a healthcare setting. You will clean public areas, resident rooms, and bathrooms, while adhering to safety procedures and using cleaning equipment properly.

Role emphasizes timely, efficient work, strong customer service, and the ability to work independently or with a team to uphold facility standards. Prior healthcare housekeeping experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain public and common areas including lobbies, restrooms, drinking fountains, and floors.
• Ensure resident rooms and bathrooms are cleaned and sanitized regularly.
• Wipe down handrails to keep them free of dust and debris.
• Remove dirt, dust, and food from walls, mirrors, windows, light fixtures, towel bars, and dispensers.
• Empty trash cans and replace liners as needed.
• Sweep and mop floors throughout the facility.
• Follow safety protocols, including using caution signage and storing chemicals securely.
• Operate cleaning equipment and use supplies according to manufacturer instructions.
• Keep housekeeping carts, equipment, and storage areas clean, organized, and sanitary.
• Report any resident safety concerns immediately to the Director of Housekeeping, Administrator, or Director of Nursing.
• Notify the Director of Housekeeping when supplies need replenishment.
• Demonstrate excellent customer service and a positive attitude.
• Manage time effectively and complete tasks efficiently.
• Work independently or as part of a team to meet facility standards.
