Job summary

The Environmental Services Technician at Elliot Health System cleans and disinfects patient areas, including occupied and unoccupied spaces, and removes nonhazardous waste and recyclables. You will operate cleaning equipment, restock supplies, and document tasks in department forms daily.

40 hours per week, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, with every other weekend rotation, supporting inpatient, outpatient, and support service areas as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Must be able to follow detailed instructions and standard procedures.
• Must communicate in English read/write/speak.
• Must be able to use time and attendance, bed tracking, disinfection equipment and Outlook.
• Must follow department cleaning techniques and procedures as written.

Responsibilities

• Remove nonhazardous waste and recyclables daily.
• Damp wipe, dust, mop, and vacuum surfaces daily.
• Operate UV light equipment to disinfect surfaces daily.
• Make beds, cribs, and stretchers.
• Transport linens and cleaning equipment as needed.
• Refill dispensers (soap, sanitizer, lotion, masks, towels, tissue) daily.
• Move furniture to improve access and presentation.
• Use department computer to log time, bed tracking, disinfection equipment, education, and communications.
• Document cleaning completion in department forms daily.
• Report damaged areas or unsafe conditions.
