Qualifications

• At least one year of claims or appeals-processing experience, or a bachelor’s degree.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Attention to detail and the ability to follow established procedures.
• Ability to recognize when an issue should be escalated.

Responsibilities

• Respond to customer inquiries by phone, online, in writing, or in person.
• Research questions and concerns to provide accurate, timely resolutions.
• Review claims and non-medical appeals and determine the appropriate action according to organizational policies.
• Process claim adjustments and reprocessing requests.
• Verify procedure and diagnosis codes before entering claims into the system.
• Meet quality and productivity standards.
• Escalate complex issues to a lead or manager when appropriate.
• Identify and report potential fraud or abuse.
