Job summary

Providence is seeking an Associate Chaplain to deliver spiritual care across inpatient, outpatient, and community settings within our health system. You will collaborate with the healthcare team to uphold the mission and values of Spiritual Health Services and support patients, families, and caregivers.

The role requires theological education and chaplain certification with preference for a master’s degree and prior medical ministry experience; you will participate in a comprehensive benefits

Qualifications

• 2 Clinical Pastoral Education units
• Graduate studies 32-48 credit hours in Theology, Divinity, Spirituality, Pastoral Ministry, or the equivalent applicable education from an accredited institution
• Bachelor's Degree
• National Chaplain Certification within 3 years of hire
• Master's Degree in Theology, Divinity, Spirituality, Pastoral Ministry, or relevant religious studies similarly accepted in chaplaincy board certifying organizations
• 1 year of ministry in a medical setting (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Provide professional spiritual care ministry to care recipients and caregivers in inpatient, outpatient, and community settings.
• Work as part of the healthcare team to implement mission, values, policies, and procedures of Spiritual Health Services.
• Support the organization’s commitment to whole-person care and the diverse needs of patients and families.

Education

Bachelor's Degree

2 Clinical Pastoral Education units

Graduate studies 32-48 credits in Theology/Divinity/Spirituality/Pastoral Ministry
