Job summary

Intermountain Health in Salt Lake City, UT seeks a Capital Project Leader to guide design & construction for care sites, ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery and compliance with guidelines. You will lead cross-functional teams, coordinate with A/E firms, and manage schedules, budgets, and quality across multiple projects.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in planning/design/construction operations, knowledge of NFPA/IBC/ICC, and strong communication skills to interact with hospital admins,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree. Degree must be obtained through an accredited institution.
• Three (3) years experience planning/design/construction operations.
• Knowledgeable in principles of architecture, engineering and construction.
• Demonstrated knowledge of FGI, NFPA (13, 99, 101, etc.), and ICC/IBC operations.
• Demonstrated knowledge of preparing contract documents.
• Demonstrated knowledge to understand and interpret Construction Scheduling, Building Codes, Contract Documents, Construction Process Documents, Estimates, and Building Standards.
• Knowledge and/or experience with Environment of Care/Infection Control requirements.
• Experience using word processing, spreadsheet, database, internet and e-mail and scheduling applications.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and other regulatory bodies including The Joint Commission, OSHA, and other accrediting bodies in the design and construction management process.
• Lead project teams including care site administration, in-house consultants, architects, engineers, contractors and contracted specialty consultants.
• Provide direction on A/E agreements, contractor agreements, fees, and schedules; manage contract deliverables and close-out.
• Direct consulting Architects, Engineers and Contractors; negotiate schedules, performance and firm selections.
• Manage day-to-day design and construction; review change orders, pay requests, and invoices; ensure quality and regulatory compliance.
• Solve day-to-day issues; maintain team communication and timely decision making.
• Review design/construction documents, specifications, estimates, and code interpretations.
• Act as SME; apply IBC, NFPA, state health regs and insurance requirements to projects.
• Evaluate planning and bidding phases; compare development options with master plan strategies.
• Foster professionalism and perform other duties as assigned.
