Job summary

Keck Medicine of USC is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to support decision‑level analytics and the annual operating and capital budget processes. You will load data into cost accounting and decision support systems, develop standards, and work with department leaders on budget development.

The role requires advanced Excel/PowerPoint, strong analytical skills, and the ability to operate independently within a hospital environment.

Qualifications

• Req Bachelor's degree Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Req 2 - 3 years Accounting, financial analysis and decision support experience in a hospital or similar environment
• Req Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint.
• Req Excellent analytical, problem-solving, planning and evaluation skills.
• Req Able to function independently and as a member of a team.
• Req Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Req Organization/time management skills.
• Pref Master's degree
• Pref Advanced proficiency in SQL database software such as Access preferred

Responsibilities

• Assists in development of analyses and reports to support hospital and corporate initiatives, including financial evaluation of strategic initiatives.
• Produces monthly management reports as assigned.
• Loads data extracts into cost accounting, decision support and budget software, including reconciliation to source system.
• Assists in development of cost accounting standards and educating users.
• Works with department managers in developing the annual operating budget.
• Manages using multiple financial systems (Kaufman Hall, Lawson, Cerner, Showcase, Kronos).
• Explains variances and trends in net revenues and costs.
• Assists in the capital budget approval process (RAC).
• Writes custom reports to maximize budget/cost accounting systems functionality.
