Qualifications

• High School education or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of hospital and/or physician billing or a billing certificate/associate degree.
• Knowledge in UB-04, 1500 billing, CPT Coding, HCPC Coding, ICD-10 Coding and Revenue Coding.

Responsibilities

• Bill patient/customer accounts timely and accurately.
• Ensure UB-04 and 1500 claims contain complete information.
• Research and resolve open accounts; submit appeals to insurers.
• Follow up on unpaid or incorrectly paid claims and communicate with patients.
• Prepare account payments and adjustments as indicated; understand Rev Codes, CPT, HCPC, ICD-10.
