Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required.
• Comprehensive knowledge of healthcare reimbursement.
• Understands medical terminology
• Familiarity with EOBs and RAs
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, working knowledge of Excel
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Must be able to multi-task with frequent interruptions
• Ability to read, write and speak English
• Ability to communicate clearly with all levels of management
• MD billing office experience required, hospital experience (1-2 years) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Promotes the facility mission, vision and values in daily work.
• Receives calls from patients and informs them of balances due after insurance.
• Performs daily billing including abstracts, interim bills, late charges, and re-bills.
• Submits professional 1500 claims as needed.
• Works items on hold to ensure timely billing.
