Job summary

USPI Memorial Hermann Surgical Hospital First Colony is seeking a motivated Business Office Manager to join our team. You will oversee billing, accounts receivable, and collections while supervising billing and collections staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 5+ years business office/management experience in healthcare.
• Experience with third-party payer systems (HMO, PPO, Medicare/Medicaid).
• Proficiency in accounting and computerized accounting systems.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of regulatory standards and privacy requirements.

Responsibilities

• Maintain current policies and procedures for the Surgery Center business office.
• Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and accreditation standards for business office and medical records.
• Oversee all accounts receivable activities and ensure timely cash flow.
• Verify accuracy of patient demographics and insurance information.
• Implement and enforce internal controls across the office and billing functions.
• Coordinate with home office billing team and payers to define billing requirements and prompt payments.
• Monitor census activities with daily, weekly, and monthly balancing.
• Understand Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable processes.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient, employee, and operations data.
• Support and participate in teamwork across departments.
