Surgery Partners is seeking an Authorization Specialist to obtain managed care authorizations and verify patient insurance benefits. You will analyze utilization data from health plans' claims and ensure satisfaction of patients, physicians, and payers.

Key tasks include obtaining referrals, reviewing schedules for authorizations, updating EHR data, and coordinating with the Financial Counselor on patient discussions. Strong communication and CPT/ICD-9 familiarity are preferred.

Competenze

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1-2 years experience in healthcare insurance billing and verification, collections and/or authorizations.
• Familiarity with CPT/ICD-9 codes.

Mansioni

• Obtain referrals and authorizations prior to services.
• Review schedules for required authorizations and eligibility.
• Update/retro-authorizations in a timely manner.
• Input authorization data into the EHR.
• Verify patient insurance and identify deductibles and co-pays.
• Notify staff when a service is denied.
• Coordinate with Financial Counselor on patient discussions.
• Participate in professional development to stay current.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
