Job summary

Rust Belt Resources collaborates with a regional public accounting firm seeking Managers or Directors to lead the Healthcare Audit practice focused on skilled nursing facilities (SNF).

Position offers flexible locations: Northeast Ohio (Cleveland/Akron hybrid), Central/Shore New Jersey (3-4 days in office), or 100% remote. You will guide engagements, mentor teams, and drive practice growth toward partnership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; Master’s or advanced degree preferred.
• Active CPA certification required for Manager/Director.
• 6 to 10+ years of public accounting audit experience, with demonstrated management experience.
• Healthcare audit experience required; SNF specialization is a plus.
• Proven track record of team leadership, engagement economics management, and client relationship building.
• Excellent communication, strategic thinking, and executive presence.

Responsibilities

• Engagement Leadership: Lead and oversee complex healthcare audit engagements from planning through issuance, ensuring GAAP compliance.
• Review & Technical Quality: Conduct high-level reviews of financial statements and audit documentation for healthcare entities.
• Team Development & Mentorship: Direct, mentor, and train staff and seniors, facilitating performance reviews.
• Practice Management: Oversee engagement budgets, billing, resource allocation, and project timelines across multiple engagements.
• Client Relationship Management: Serve as a primary point of contact for executive-level client management with proactive advisory.
• Business Development (Director Level): Identify growth opportunities, lead proposals, and support firm expansion.
• Technical Expertise: Oversee research on healthcare accounting standards, GAAP updates, and regulatory requirements.
