Job summary

St. Elizabeth Healthcare is hiring an Armed Security Officer to join our Edgewood Security Team. This full-time position covers the second shift, 40 hours per week, with responsibilities to ensure a safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff.

You will interact professionally, apply de‑escalation techniques, and coordinate with staff and local authorities as needed. Eligibility includes firearms training and a valid driver’s license; prior SEH security experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED; bachelor’s degree acceptable.
• Specialized firearms training or certification required.
• Ability to communicate clearly and de-escalate in tense situations.

Responsibilities

• Directs visitors, patients and employees to appropriate locations and intervenes to prevent disturbances.
• Provide customer relations, way-finding, and courteous assistance during security duties.
• Monitor security via CCTV and alarms; manage radio/phone communications.
