Job summary

Privia Health is seeking an Analytics Engineer to bridge raw healthcare data and strategic operations. You will design, model, and maintain analytics infrastructure that blends payer claims, EMR data, and operational feeds to empower clinical and business stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science, Health Informatics, Information Systems, or a related field preferred or equivalent practical experience.
• 3+ years of professional experience in Healthcare Analytics, Analytics Engineering, or Business Intelligence within a provider group, health system, payer, or healthcare tech environment.
• Strong domain experience with payer claims data (medical, pharmacy, eligibility/attribution) and EMR/clinical data (Athenahealth, Epic, Cerner).
• Advanced SQL skills: complex queries, multi-table JOINs, CTEs, window functions, optimization, and data transformation routines.
• Exposure to dbt, Python/Pandas, Git, cloud data warehouses like Snowflake, MS SQL Server, or BigQuery, and Excel.
• Familiarity with Value-Based Care concepts (risk scores/HCC, quality metrics, shared savings).
• Experience in agile, fast-paced environments with ad-hoc query requests.
• Strong communication skills to explain data modeling concepts to stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain production-ready data models and semantic layers for enterprise reporting and self-service analytics.
• Ingest and blend diverse datasets including payer claims, attribution rosters, quality measure extracts, EMR/clinical data, and operational logs.
• Execute fast-turnaround SQL queries and analyses to answer operational, clinical, and financial questions across business units.
• Define and standardize core business metrics across domains such as operations, provider utilization, quality measures, and VBC performance.
• Collaborate with IT, Operations, Clinical Support, and Payer Relations to translate requirements and iterate quickly in an agile environment.
• Conduct automated data validation, QA testing, and performance tuning on data warehouse queries and transformations.
• Serve as an internal SME on data structures, clinical workflows, and payer data layouts; assist non-technical teams in interpretation.
• Document data models, logic definitions, and data flow pipelines; collaborate with BI teams for transparency across analytics landscape.
