Job summary

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years' experience in a healthcare setting.
• Minimum of two years college education in healthcare admin, business/marketing or PR preferred.
• Ability to adjust work schedule based on admissions needs.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assess inquiries and respond to referrers per protocol and maintain positive admission experience.
• Respond promptly to phone, fax, and walk-in inquiries, and notify Administrator.
• Coordinate tours and sales with customers, families, and referrers.
• Follow up on inquiries not yet converted to admissions.
• Identify, train, and schedule the customer service team.
• Ensure proper completion and distribution of admission paperwork per policy.
• Meet with families upon admission and orient to nursing staff.
• Document customer data accurately in healthcare software to aid placement.
• Maintain knowledge of elder care medical, social and financial information.
• Collaborate with staff to ensure efficient admissions, discharges and transfers.
• Review performance statistics on customer flow and sales activity.
• Facilitate referrals with hospitals by engaging physicians, social workers, and planners.
• Stay informed about facility services to assist discharge planning and utilization review.
• Provide updates on patient progress to referral sources within HIPAA guidelines.
• Develop and implement long- and short-term sales plans.
• Coordinate presentations about the facility; work with Admin to ensure satisfaction surveys.
