Sentara Health is seeking an Accounting Coordinator to join its healthcare finance team in Carrollton, VA. You’ll gain hands-on experience across cash management, receivables, reconciliations, and month-end processes while supporting day-to-day accounting operations.

The role emphasizes accuracy, internal controls, and collaboration with departments and vendors to maintain financial integrity and timely reporting in a large health system.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent required.
• 1 year or more in accounting, finance or related field.

Responsabilités

• Process and reconcile cash-related transactions, deposits, adjustments, and accounts receivable activities in accordance with organizational policies and procedures.
• Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation to ensure integrity of financial information.
• Perform routine account reconciliations and assist in identifying and resolving discrepancies within the general ledger.
• Support month-end and year-end close activities, including preparation of journal entries, reconciliations, and financial documentation.
• Assist with internal and external audit preparation by gathering required documentation and supporting financial reporting requests.
• Monitor and ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting procedures, and healthcare finance standards.
• Partner with internal departments, finance teams, and external vendors to resolve questions, research discrepancies, and support efficient financial operations.
