Job summary

Plymouth YMCA is seeking an energetic and mission-driven Health & Wellness Director to lead all aspects of our wellness operation, including personal training, group exercise, and healthy living initiatives for thousands of members.

The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor's degree (Master's strongly preferred), have at least five years of supervisory experience, CPR/AED certification, and proven ability to recruit, train, and retain a high-performing wellness team while delivering outstanding

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Master's strongly preferred.
• At least 5 years of supervisory experience preferred.
• CPR/AED certifications required.
• Strong interpersonal, customer service and networking skills.
• Ability to lift/move heavy equipment and work flexible hours.

Responsibilities

• Direct Leadership and Supervision of the Health & Wellness Department including Group Exercise Classes, Personal Training and Healthy Living Programming.
• Management and Coordination of the group exercise schedule of 80+ classes weekly.
• Establishes annual departmental goals within context of agency goals and vision and ensure direct reports attain those goals.
• Develops and recommends new programs, processes, partnerships, strategies and approaches.
• Ensures smooth and effective operation of programs and exceptional customer service.
• Increase revenue and engagement in all areas of health & wellness.
• Recruit, hire, train, evaluate, and supervise health & wellness team.

Program/Department Responsibilities:

• Formulates and Manages the Health & Wellness budget to meet or exceed the budgeted numbers. Recommend better solutions to maximize efficiency wherever possible.

Requirements

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s strongly preferred
• Experience working in the Health and Wellness Field preferred
• At least 5 years of supervisory experience preferred
• CPR/AED certifications required
• Ability to work and thrive as part of a cohesive team
• Strong interpersonal, customer services and networking skills necessary
• Ability to lift/move heavy equipment and clean when necessary
• Occasional early morning, late nights and weekends
• Excellent written communication skills and proficiency in all Microsoft Office programs

The actual pay rate will depend on the person's qualifications and experience. $50,000.00 - $61,250.00 / year
