Work Schedule:

Part-time, 60% FTE day/evening shift. Monday – Friday, every other weekend rotation required. Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department.

Health unit coordinators play a key role on each unit by providing a warm and welcoming atmosphere for patients, families, and visitors.

We are seeking a Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) to:

  1. Manage and facilitate the day-to-day operations of a unit.
  2. Answer phones, organize files, order supplies, handle correspondence, manage databases, and provide general support to patients, family members, and staff. You are often considered the backbone of the unit, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.
  3. Utilize excellent communication and organizational skills to support patient care.
  4. Collaborate with the clinical team to coordinate all aspects of patient care, including admissions, transfers, and discharges.
  5. Use a high level of attention to detail to maintain accurate electronic health records and perform clerical duties.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma Required

Work Experience:

  • At least 1 year of experience in a medical or customer service environment or similar experience Required
  • 1 year of experience in a medical environment Preferred
