UW Medical Center - Montlake in Seattle is seeking a part-time Health Unit Coordinator to support the Neonatal ICU. You will handle communications, triage call lights, assist with discharges, and coordinate transfers under the supervision of the care team.

This on-site role offers evenings and a pathway for growth. Qualifications include a high school diploma and at least one year of relevant healthcare, admin, or customer service experience.

• Work closely with the charge RN to help manage patient flow, prioritize unit needs, and coordinate admits, transfers, and discharges.
• Prepare and compile discharge packets to support timely and safe patient discharges.
• Coordinate transportation and appropriate paperwork for patient transfers and diagnostic testing.

Primary Job Responsibilities

• Handle unit paperwork, including patient chart maintenance, consent forms, and other documentation
• Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment and restock as needed Utilize computer systems such as Epic, Microsoft Teams, and Outlook for communication, documentation, and coordination
• Partner with all members of the care team to prioritize patient satisfaction and exceptional care delivery
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High school graduation or equivalent AND
• One year of healthcare, administrative, or customer service experience OR
• An equivalent combination of education/experience
• Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and/or registration
