The Department of Veterans Affairs in the United States is seeking a Health Technician (Optometry) to support the Surgical Service Line. You will assist vision care providers, perform routine clinical tasks, and help ensure high-quality patient care for Veterans.
Key duties include taking patient history, verifying prescription data, measuring acuity, and operating auto-refractors and other ophthalmic instruments in a busy eye clinic.

Duties: Assist vision care providers in providing the highest possible level of services to patients. QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
Time-in-grade:
Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.
Specialized Experience:
Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least a GS-5.

No physical requirements. Wheelchair veterans who can transfer are offered an arm in transferring from wheelchair to eye chair. Most times wheelchair is moved to eye equipment and equipment is powered up or down.
