Summary

This position is located in the Audiology & Speech Service at the Charles George VAMC in Asheville, NC. The duties involve all clinical and patient care areas related to Audiology. The health technician supports the clinical programs in Audiology.

This is an OPEN CONTINUOUS ANNOUNCEMENT and will remain open until October 27, 2025, or until filled.

Duties

Includes but not limited to:

  • Hearing aid troubleshooting and repair.
  • Visual and auditory checks of hearing aids and assistive technology.
  • Fabricating earmold impressions with otoscopy.
  • Ordering, fitting, and modifying earmolds.
  • Providing basic hearing aid information to patients and caregivers.
  • Assisting with audiology visits, calibration, and setup.
  • Helping with hearing aid connectivity and app pairing.
  • Documenting procedures and coding in patient records.
Administrative duties
  • Supply and equipment tracking.
  • Inventory management.
  • Processing devices and repairs.
  • Maintaining mailing supplies.
  • Handling communications with Veterans.
Work Schedule

Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. Not eligible for telework.
