This position is located at the Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center - Milwaukee - Wisconsin - in the Acute Outpatient Nursing Division. The incumbent is assigned as a Health Technician (HT) for the Ambulatory Infusion Center (AIC) - Vascular Access Team (VAT) - Quick Draw (QD) services. The incumbent functions as a non-licensed member of the nursing team, combining responsibility and selected aspects of a productive team member to ensure quality and timely delivery of care.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-4 grade level, which includes knowledge, methods, and techniques relevant to the position. Experience includes, but is not limited to: performing phlebotomy and EKG duties; understanding aging and growth principles relevant to adult and geriatric patients; recognizing abnormal respiratory status; setting up and adjusting equipment for tests; using computer programs and office machines; and holding certification in Basic CPR.
EDUCATION: Must have completed a 4-year bachelor's degree or at least 24 semester hours in subjects related to the position. (Transcripts required)
COMBINATION of Education and Experience: Equivalent combinations of post-high school education and experience that meet the total experience requirements. Only education beyond 60 semester hours is credited. One year of study beyond the second year equals 6 months of experience. (Transcripts required)
One year of phlebotomy experience is required. Volunteer experience and unpaid work are also credited.
