Job summary

FOREST HOME CHRISTIAN CAMPS is seeking a Health Tech to provide emergency medical assessment, basic first aid, and medication dispensing for guests and staff on a rotating shift with 24-hour on-call responsibilities.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and AHA BLS certification, plus formal medical assessment training (EMT or nursing). The position supports Forest Home First Aid operations and patient care in a camp setting.

Responsibilities

• Provides basic First Aid to guests and staff on a rotating shift basis with 24-hour on-call responsibilities.
• Meets guest and staff needs with a gracious attitude and an encouraging spirit.
• Assists with assessment and facilitation of treatment for all staff members using Worker’s Compensation and completes documentation as instructed.
• Logs all assessments, treatments, and medications in the camp electronic medical record.
• Organizes transportation for guests who need to be driven off grounds for advanced healthcare needs.
• Assures all campers receive medications as directed and documents in camp electronic medical record.
• Works with licensed medical professionals to provide high quality medical care to campers within First Aid Protocols.
• Assists with Health Screening procedures and ensures forms are kept for medical records.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Health Tech will provide emergency medical assessment, basic first aid, and dispense medications to Forest Home guests and staff in a friendly, professional manner within the scope and of their training and Forest Home First Aid Department Policies and Protocols.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provides basic First Aid to Forest Home guests and staff on a rotating shift basis with 24-hour on-call responsibilities.
• Meets guest and staff needs with a gracious attitude and an encouraging spirit.
• Assists with assessment and facilitation of treatment for all staff members using Worker’s Compensation and completes documentation as instructed.
• Responsible for logging all assessments, treatments, and medications in the camp electronic medical record.
• Assists in organizing transportation for guests who need to be driven off grounds for advanced healthcare needs.
• Assures all campers receive medications as directed and documents in camp electronic medical record.
• Works closely with licensed medical professionals to provide high quality medical care to campers within First Aid Protocols.
• Assists with Health Screening procedures for all campers and assures forms are collected and kept for medical records.
• Keeps all medication, first aid supplies, and treatment area neat, orderly, and properly secured.
• Communicates clearly and professionally on camp radio system.
• Closed-toed shoes when on duty and dresses within Forest Home dress code policy.
• Utilizes and maintains Forest Home First Aid vehicle and practices safe driving behaviors.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• AHA BLS Certification
• Formal medical assessment training (EMT program, nursing school, etc.)
