Position Summary

Flint Cultural Center Academy is seeking a dedicated and dynamic K–8 Health Teacher to join our team. This role is ideal for an educator who is passionate about whole-child development and committed to promoting lifelong healthy habits in students.

The ideal candidate is an enthusiastic educator who builds strong relationships, models healthy living, and fosters learning environments where students feel valued, challenged, and supported. This position offers a unique opportunity to help design and implement a comprehensive, schoolwide health program across all grade levels.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with Health (MA) endorsement
• Strong verbal and written communication skills

Primary Responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of FCCA’s K–12 health curriculum, aligned to the Michigan Health Education Standards
• Collaborate with instructional staff to establish a cohesive, vertically aligned health program across grade levels
• Teach health elective courses at the middle school level, engaging students in relevant, standards-based health content
• Support K–5 classroom teachers in integrating the Michigan Model for Health™ into daily instruction
• Provide resources, coaching, and guidance to elementary staff to ensure effective and consistent implementation
• Promote student wellness by teaching topics such as physical health, mental health, nutrition, and decision‑making skills
• Build a positive classroom culture that encourages student engagement
• Develop strong relationships with students, families, and staff
• Model professionalism, collaboration, and ethical conduct at all times

Salary & Benefits

Salary is determined by the FCCA matrix. Candidates with successful prior teaching experience may be placed higher on the scale. FCCA offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision coverage.
