Position: Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist - Prescision Park
Position Summary
The Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist is responsible for performing psychiatric assessments, diagnostic evaluations, and medication management. Services are evidence-based and provided to children, adolescents, and young adults within a primary care setting. This role includes consultation with behavioral health clinicians and primary care providers to develop comprehensive treatment plans. The psychiatrist ensures all services align with California laws, professional care standards, agency guidelines, and ethical standards. Crisis intervention services are provided when necessary.
Essential Functions
- Perform psychiatric evaluations and evidence-based pharmacologic treatments for patients with diagnostic or therapeutic challenges.
- Provide consultations to clinical staff and primary care providers (PCPs) regarding patient care, treatment recommendations, and progress.
- Participate in Quality Assurance activities, including treatment utilization review, medication monitoring, and peer review.
- Ensure timely completion of all required documentation, reports, medical records, and forms per departmental, state, and federal requirements.
- Assist in developing and delivering in-service training for primary care staff and medical residents on best practices for behavioral health.
- Perform crisis interventions, including suicide assessments, and provide recommendations to medical providers and patients.
- Collaborate with the Chief Behavioral Health Officer and Director of Psychiatry to ensure integrated, team-based care.
- Participate in treatment team meetings and organizational committees as needed.
- Supervise fellowship-trained PMHNPs via video or in-person, as requested.
- Maintain productivity expectations as outlined by clinic/program guidelines.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements
Education
- M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited institution.
- Completion of an accredited Psychiatric Residency Program and Child & Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship.
Licensure & Certification
- Current unrestricted medical license to practice in California.
- Active DEA license.
- Board certified or board-eligible in Child and/or Adult Psychiatry.
Experience
- Relevant educational background and experience in psychiatry.
- Cultural sensitivity and familiarity with outpatient community psychiatry are preferred.
Required Skills
Verbal & Written Communication
- Fluency in English.
- Clear and concise oral and written communication skills.
Technical Knowledge
- Familiarity with rehabilitation and recovery treatment models.
- Experience with integrated care for co-occurring disorders.
- Awareness of behavioral medicine, health psychology, and substance use interventions (e.g., IMPACT, SBIRT models).
- Competence with telehealth platforms and electronic medical records.
Interpersonal And Clinical Skills
- Ability to handle a diverse patient population with sensitivity and respect for cultural differences.
- Professionalism in dealing with patients with co-occurring conditions.
- Strong judgment and prioritization abilities.

Physical & Working Conditions
- May involve standing, walking, lifting, and assisting with patient transfers.
- Psychiatric care is delivered through a hybrid model (in-person and televideo).
- May require travel to satellite facilities or telecommuting on designated days.
- Alternative work sites may be provided if working from home is not possible.
Compliance & Universal Requirements
- Completion of I-9 verification, physical examination, background and reference checks, application, orientation, and PPD screening prior to employment.
- Maintain HIPAA standards, including the confidentiality and security of patient information.
- Follow OSHA guidelines and complete annual safety training.
- Adhere to all organizational policies, procedures, and compliance regulations.
- Participate in required training, including sexual harassment prevention (for management roles).
- Non-exempt employees must comply with meal period regulations by clocking out appropriately.
