Job Description
  • Performs HIV testing to meet a minimum of 100 results per month.
  • Supports patients in navigating the clinic system and community resources.
  • Identifies testing sites in the community (specific area).
  • Attends and participates in all Outreach and Prevention Programs, including weekends and evenings, and operates/drives the UF CARES mobile unit.
  • Provides administrative assistance with monthly data collection, tracks results, and maintains all necessary materials for HIV testing.

Compensation: $15 to $18 per hour, depending on education and experience.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent and one year of relevant experience. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.
  • Preferred: At least 1-2 years' experience with the HIV population, either through work or volunteer activities.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
  • Firsthand knowledge of living with HIV/AIDS.
  • Certified HIV Testing - completed 500/501 courses.
Additional Information

This is a time-limited position, based on circumstances such as funding sources, which control the length of employment.

The Tester works in a team to provide HIV testing and outreach prevention services, assisting in program planning, including Community Advisory Board (CAB) and support groups. They also locate testing sites by visiting churches, community agencies, and organizations.
