Job summary

The GEO Group, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Health Services Administrator to supervise nursing and clerical staff in a correctional setting. You will ensure high-quality nursing care while maintaining security and policy compliance.

Responsibilities include staff scheduling, training, licensure maintenance, and coordinating with external providers. A nursing degree with RN license and CPR/BLS are required, plus 6 years of RN experience and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration or Nursing degree required.
• Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse license in state of facility required.
• Minimum 6 years of direct RN work experience.
• CPR/BLS certification must be current.
• Strong verbal and writing skills; ability to disseminate instructions clearly and write memoranda/reports clearly.
• Ability to work with computers and necessary software.
• Experience in healthcare planning, budgeting, and meeting contractual obligations.
• 2+ years of supervisory healthcare administration/management experience preferred.
• Correctional/detention setting administrative experience preferred.
• Experience in outpatient setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and evaluates nursing and clerical staff within a correctional setting.
• Ensures compliance with corporate and facility policies and procedures in decision-making.
• Manages staff scheduling, recruitment, orientation, evaluation, training, and disciplinary actions.
• Maintains licensure for staff requiring licensure; organizes monthly in-service education.
• Ensures adequate supplies and pharmaceuticals; monitors usage and budget considerations.
• Oversees workflow, patient care, and infection control; participates in quality assurance and audits.
