A public health department in Seattle is seeking an Area Manager for the Street Medicine Program. This role involves directing operations, managing budgets, and leading a multidisciplinary team focused on providing care to homeless populations. The ideal candidate has experience in health program supervision and a strong commitment to equity and social justice in healthcare. This is a hybrid position based in Seattle, WA.

The Community Health Services (CHS) Division of Public Health – Seattle & King County delivers direct care through Public Health Centers and partners with community agencies to provide medical, dental, WIC, family planning, and care coordination services. Its mission is to ensure equitable access to health care, especially for low-income and underserved populations. Within CHS, the Healthcare for the Homeless Network (HCHN) focuses on people experiencing homelessness in King County, offering medical, dental, behavioral health, case management, and a respite program in collaboration with Harborview, which operates the Edward Thomas House. The Street Medicine Program, part of HCHN, provides mobile health care through smaller vans and outreach teams. These teams deliver wound care, chronic disease management, infectious disease testing, and referrals directly at encampments, shelters, and community anchor sites across King County meeting people where they are and removing barriers to care.
Public Health Seattle-King County Health Care for the Homeless (HCHN) Street Medicine Program is seeking an Area Manager (HSA I) to lead the program in collaboration with the Clinical and Operational Supervisory team. This role is responsible for directing daily operations, including supervising and evaluating staffing needs, developing and monitoring the program budget, and establishing, prioritizing, and implementing program goals and objectives while ensuring alignment with compliance guidelines and regulations. The Area Manager will oversee the planning, implementation, and evaluation of Street Medicine operations, including outreach teams, REACH clinical services, and contracted Senior Mobile Medical Services. The role also involves collaborating with staff, colleagues, and the HCHN Regional Health Administrator to develop and implement new initiatives, while ensuring compliance with all policies and procedures. The Street Medicine team includes providers, nurses, outreach workers, behavioral health education specialists, social workers, and administrative support staff. Core values of the program include trauma-informed care, equity and social justice, and harm reduction practices.

Work Schedule: This position is Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm with occasional nights/weekends as needed. This position is FLSA exempt and not eligible for overtime.
The Street Medicine team works in a hybrid model, with days in the office as well as telecommuting. The ratio of remote to onsite work will be dependent on business needs and is subject to change. The primary onsite location is Chinook Building - 401 5th Ave. Seattle, WA 98104 and South Park - 7272 W Marginal Wy S, Seattle, WA 98108.
Employees must reside in Washington state and within a reasonable distance to their King County worksite to respond to workplace reporting requirements.
King County provides tools and resources to support working remotely. The selected candidate will join a team that is transitioning to a hybrid work environment. Employees will be provided with a County-issued laptop and must maintain a home workspace with internet access to perform work and remain available during scheduled hours.
