Job summary

Anne Arundel Community College (AACC) invites applications for a Health Sciences Academic Tutor. This grant-funded, part-time position supports SHS students on the Arnold/Main Campus by tutoring in anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and related topics.

The role requires an associate degree or higher, two years of tutoring or student support experience, strong records and communication, and ability to work on site with flexible hours up to 20 per week.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher required.
• Two years of tutoring or coaching experience.
• Strong record-keeping and attention to detail.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and meet deadlines.
• Able to work with diverse students, faculty, staff, and the public.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide tutoring for SHS health program content areas.
• Improve student success and retention by filling knowledge gaps.
• Monitor academic progress and assist with retention activities.
• Track student encounters and report volume back to SHS leadership.
• Measure course-level success and student satisfaction.
• Monitor, analyze, and report on student success data and develop progression plans.
• Collaborate with financial aid, registration, marketing, advising, admissions, and SHS staff.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
