Job Overview
The Donald C. Harrison Health Sciences Library (HSL) seeks a motivated, collaborative, and experienced health sciences librarian to support research, instruction, systematic reviews and other forms of in-depth searching across the Academic Health Center's faculty, researchers, and students. This is a twelve-month full-time tenure track position.
This position reports to the Director, Health Science Library and works collaboratively with other HSL reference librarians, as well as with librarians at other UC Libraries.
Essential Functions
- Conduct workshops, consultations, and other teaching activities in support of information literacy or other research topics.
- Perform in-depth literature searching such as systematic and/or integrative reviews.
- Develop and maintain LibGuides or other digital learning objects in assigned curricular and research areas.
- Provide outreach, instruction, and liaison services to assigned areas across the Colleges of Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, and Allied Health.
- Collaborating with other Health Sciences Library staff and the Collection Strategist Librarian, assist with data collection and assessment for reporting to local, regional, and/or national agencies.
- Participate in collection development and budget reviews.
Required Education
Graduate degree in Library and Information Science or an advanced degree in a relevant field.
Three or more years of professional experience in an academic health sciences library or research library.
Required Experience
Demonstrated experience conducting systematic and/or integrative reviews.
Evidence of successful project management involving multiple, diverse stakeholders and a demonstrated ability to meet deadlines.
Additional Qualifications Considered
- Experience in providing excellent customer service, and a strong commitment to providing timely, responsive, and innovative service.
- Aptitude for complex, analytical work with attention to detail. Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities.
- Previous experience with Alma/Primo.
- Experience with content management systems {CMS).
